President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has requested President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih not to transfer the ownership of any state property to anyone else.
Dr. Muizzu's request to President Solih comes in the wake of President Solih's pledge during election campaign to complete all legal formalities and hand over land registry to everyone who got land from Binveriya Scheme, before 5th November.
In his letter, the President-elect noted that president Solih had met at the President's Office and assured that all necessary assistance would be provided to ensure that the transition of power to the new government was carried out smoothly.
President-elect Dr. Muizzu's letter stated that he requires President Solih's assistance in certain matters, including not transferring the ownership of any state property to anyone else and not to make new investments from any state institution.
The letter also asked the president not to grant any new permission for the development and sale of any state land, not to sign international treaties and agreements, and not to start new projects under PSIP or any other programme.
Additionally, Dr. Muizzu requested that there should be no change in the pay structure of any state institution, and no new person should be appointed to any government job or promoted to the post.
In his letter, Dr. Muizzu thanked President Solih for his excellent example of democracy after winning the presidential election on Saturday.
