JP is set to hold a council meeting today to decide on a stand for the second round of the presidential election.

The 160th council meeting of the party is scheduled to be held at 1:00 pm today. The meeting will discuss the party's progress in the second round of the presidential election.

In the first round of the presidential election, Qasim received 5,450 votes. That's 2.4 percent.

Qasim had met with PPM/PNC running mate Hassan Mohamed Latheef and senior party officials last Tuesday, where they discussed on potentially working together for the second round.

There are also coalition talks with the President and the MDP presidential candidate, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

The President visited Sun Island on Wednesday and spent two days with Qasim for talks.

During the two days President Solih spent at Sun Island, the two leaders held several meetings separately. Some other meetings were attended by others.

A source close to Qasim in Sun Island told One Online on Thursday that Qasim has given the green signal back President Solih in the second round.

The same official told One Online yesterday that "a decision has been made" and that it is very certain.
