Elections Commission of the Maldives on Wednesday decided to count 74 ballot boxes from three constituencies, following complaints regarding the tentative results.

Speaking to ‘One Online’ member and spokesperson of EC, Ahmed Akram said that ballots from 69 boxes related to Maavah, four boxes from Maduvvari and one box from Maamigilli will be recounted.

69 ballot boxes from Maduvvari are being recounted after complaints by the MDP Candidate, which have been looked into by the Commission. This includes two ballot bixes in Maduvvari and two ballot boxes in Meedhoo.

Akran also added that after complaints from the side of Qasim Ibrahim, who won the Maamigilli constituency, a box in Fenfushi is to be recounted as well. The complaint noted that the number of void votes in said box was unusually high.
