The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has granted Continuous Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) approval to Beond, the world's first premium leisure airline to operate from the Maldives.

Nanta Lenin, Chief Operations Officer and Accountable Manager at Beyond, said the company conducted a detailed internal audit and the Civil Aviation Authority also conducted a detailed audit before granting CAMO approval.

Nanta added that with this permission, it will be easier to get an air operators' certificate to start commercial operations,.

Beond recently announced that it has received $17 million (MVR 262 million) in initial investments from various groups of investors. However, it did not disclose the details of the investors.

Beond is looking to start operations later this year and will use a family aircraft with a capacity of 68 people, including an Airbus A320.

The airline will bring passengers from Europe, the Middle East and the Asia Pacific.
