The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has revoked an order they issued to the Tourism Ministry to stop the sale of the Vaavehdhifalhu by Villa Company, owned by JP Leader Qasim Ibrahim.

Senior Communication Officer at ACC, Nishan Mohamed Didi revealed to One Online this evening that the commission at a meeting held on Thursday decided to revoke the directive as there was no reason to continue with it.

The Villa Company's attempt to sell Vaavehdhifalhu was stopped on June 5th. On the same day, the commission said that the sale of the lagoon was stopped following a complaint filed by an individual with the commission. However, no further details were provided.

In 2015, the Tourism Ministry canceled the agreement and took ownership of the island back citing that the work is not progressing as per the agreement.

When Villa Company filed a case against the Ministry at the Supreme Court, the court had ruled that the Ministry canceled the agreement illegally and ruled in favor of Villa Company.
