An online portal has been launched by Maldives Police Service (MPS) where you can request for a police certificate online.
Under the strategic plan for the next five years by the police, the portal was launched by Commissioner of Police, Mohamed Hameedh. Speaking during the launch, CP Hameedh noted that a number of citizens often request for police certificates at various offices related to MPS.
The CP stressed that while the process was one that was manual, switching it to an electronic process would bring about several advantages for everyone. These would include decreased waiting times for the certificates as well.
During the ceremony, Bureau of Crime Records’ Head Chief, Inspector of Police Ali Shareef said that after the launch and activation of the portal, everyone can now request for their police certificates online. He added that whether you were in the Maldives or not, you will be able to use the portal and all of its services. He added that an SMS notification would be sent upon the completion of the certificate.
With the portal, a QR code has also been introduced to the certificates as a security feature. You will be easily able to certify the authenticity of the certificate by scanning the QR code.
