Elections Commission (EC) has started sending ballot papers and boxes to the islands for the upcoming parliament election.

Talking to One Online, member and Spokesperson of EC, Ahmed Akram said that they began sending the ballot papers, boxes and other materials to the voting locations last night. He said that all items would be sent before 2 April.

Akram said that the ballot boxes were sent with a member of the Commission and a police officer.

The parliament election this year is set to have 264,442 people eligible to vote where 387 candidates are running.

The Elections Commission announced that 505 vote boxes would place for the parliament election.
