Former Attorney General, who is representing Speaker Mohamed Nasheed to appeal MDP primary results at Civil Court, Dhiyana Saeed has said the court has not made a decision regarding the case.

MDP primary was held on 28 January, with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih securing 24,566 votes to win against Nasheed's 15,641 votes.

Nasheed's faction has filed a motion at Civil Court to overturn the MDP primary results. Dhiyana told 'One' on Sunday night that Civil Court has not yet reached a decision in the matter.

'One' has come to know that the motion was filed citing the voting rights of over 39,000 MDP members who were removed from the party registry, disallowing them to vote in the primary.

Nasheed's faction is appealing to hold the MDP primary again with the voting rights secured for the 39,000 members. As such, they have also appealed for an order to halt President Solih's receival of the MDP candidacy for presidential elections.

MDP's Deputy Chairperson Ibrahim Waheed told 'One' on Sunday that all issues can be resolved within the party. He added that he cannot comment on the court case as he did not know about it.

MDP on Friday presented President Solih with MDP's candidacy for the elections.
