The Russian Ambassador to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Yury Materiy, has made a call on the Speaker of the Parliament, Qasim Ibrahim.

The two met at the parliament house today and discuss the relations between the two countries. They also discussed the aid from Russia to the Maldives and mutual cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.

It was noted that the relationship between the two countries improved during Materiy's stretch as the Ambassador.

At the meeting, the Russian Ambassador expressed his hopes for further cooperation in the future.
