MDP has said that all the members of the cabinet is ready to work with the government.

Responding to questions at one of the series of MDP press events in the lead up to parliament election, the Campaign Spokesperson of MDP, Afshan Latheef, said that all the ministers of the cabinet are giving their full support to fulfill the campaign promises and policies of the government.

Afshan responded to the allegations from PPM and PNC, the Progressive Coalition, that the ministers are defending the government to protect their positions stating that their coalition have no promises or policies to offer the public.

She said that obstructing the commissions formed by President to fulfill the promise of asset recovery and solve the murders and disappearances in the past, are a threat to sustaining the government.

Afshan also responded to JP Leader, Qasim Ibrahim’s comments which said that the former President, Mohamed Nasheed, cannot wait five more years. The MDP Spokesperson said that the former President is doing a lot of hard work to sustain the current government. And said that ex-President Nasheed would not violate the regulations of a democracy and noted that he worked on the front lines to bring democracy to the Maldives.
