The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has said that the Commission is currently investigating 238 major cases of corruption at State companies.

The Vice President of the ACC , Muavviz Rasheed has said today that the majority of cases addressed by the Commission involve State companies.  

He noted the 10 companies with the most amount of cases. Muavviz said that there are currently 52 cases involving Fenaka Corporation, 32 cases at State Trading Organization, 23 cases of Public Service Media, 19 cases of Maldives Post Ltd and 13 cases of Greater Male’ Industrial Zone. He further said that there are also 10 cases of  MTCC, 9 cases of Housing Development Corporation and 9 cases at Maldives Marketing and Public Relation Corporation (MMPRC).

The Vice President of ACC noted that the cases concerning Public Service Media (PSM) and Fenaka Corporation are being taken on by a specially assigned team. He reiterated that these cases have been given high priority in an effort to conclude the cases sooner.  

Additionally, Muavviz said that the rules of these companies are set in a way that facilitates corruption and said that the companies have been told to correct these rules. He added that these issues have also been brought under the attention of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
