Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) doctors have successfully performed a major kidney removal surgery.

The Maldivian team of doctors from IGMH Urology Department was led by consultant subspecialists in urology, Dr. Ibrahim Misbah and Dr. Abdulla Asdar.

IGMH said the patient is currently recovering well. IGMH thanked the doctors, the anesthesiologist and the nurses who were part of the case.

This is the first such major surgery conducted by a team of Maldivian doctors, making this a historical event in Maldivian medical field.
