Cambodia's Prime Minister and Chairman of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Hun Sen, has appealed to Myanmar Junta's top generals to allow a special Southeast Asian envoy access to ousted leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
Hun Sen told Junta leader, Min Aung Hlaing, it was crucial the envoy meets all stakeholders in Myanmar, including Suu Kyi, in a video call on Monday - his strongest call yet to the Junta chief to demonstrate commitment to regional peace process.
Junta chief has pledged to facilitate meetings for the special envoy with other parties concerned.
ASEAN has barred Myanmar's generals from attending key meetings until its military ends hostilities and allows dialogue and humanitarian access.
The envoy made a trip to Myanmar in March, but was denied access to Suu Kyi.
