A Myanmar junta court has postponed giving its first verdict in the corruption trial of ousted leader Aung San Suu Kyi on Monday.

Suu Kyi has been detained since her government was ousted following a coup staged by her generals in February last year.

Suu Kyi faces multiple charges including violating the official secrets act, corruption and electoral fraud, and could face at least 15 years in jail if convicted on all counts.

Media has been barred from attending the special court hearings, and Suu Kyi's lawyers have been banned from speaking to the media.

The ousted leader has already been given a six-year sentence on accounts of violating Covid-19 rules and walkie-talkie import regulations.
