The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 168,631 after another 507 people have tested positive.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 40 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 405 from the atolls and 24 from the resorts wit 38 people who were unaccounted geographically.

In the same time frame, 531 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 152,968 with another 15,356 people still in treatment including 20 people in hospitals.

There have been 293 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 274 locals, 19 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
