The total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the Maldives has risen to 292 after another person has passed away.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that at 12:15 pm, an 80-year-old Maldivian male being treated at the Hulhumale' COVID-19 Treatment facility

This is the 16th COVID-related eath in the Maldives this month.

With this most recent death today, a total of 273 locals and 19 foreigners has passed away so far. The highest reported COVID deaths on a single day in the Maldives has been on 25 May 2021 where 13 deaths were reported.

The first COVID-related reported in the country was reported on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old local woman.
