The total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the Maldives has risen to 290 after a COVID patient has passed away in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll Thinadhoo.
ONE Online has learned that a 75-year-old local man being treated at the Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital in Thinadhoo passed away last night.
With this most recent death, a total of 271 locals and 19 foreigners has passed away so far. The highest reported COVID deaths on a single day in the Maldives has been on 25 May 2021 where 13 deaths were reported.
The first COVID-related reported in the country was reported on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old local woman.
