India has announced that they those traveling to India from 14 February 2022 are no longer required to quarantine upon arrival.
Indian Health Ministry had revised their guidelines a month after they were made strict when the Omicron variant started spreading in the country.
The revised guidelines state that international arrivals are no longer required go through the mandatory quarantine and does not have to take a negative PCR test.
However, two percent of the arrivals will be subject to random sample testing for COVID-19 but they would be allowed to leave the airport to their house or hotel after giving the sample.
Instead of the seven-day quarantine, Indian authorities recommend a 14-day self monitoring after arrival. The self-declaration form and the proof of vaccination or a PCR test results still needs to be uploaded to the Air Suvidha portal 72 hours before traveling.
