The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 130,599 after another 2,510 people have tested positive.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 1,203 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 788 from the atolls and 41 from the resorts.

In the same time frame, 1,682 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 112,535 with another 17,777 people still in treatment including 49 people in hospitals.

There have been 274 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 256 locals, 18 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
