The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 101,418 after another 967 people have tested positive in the past 24 hours.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 475 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 290 from the atolls and 87 from the resorts with two from safari vessels.

In the same time frame, 203 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 95,259 with another 5,881 people still in treatment including 25 people in hospitals.

There have been 265 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 247 locals, 18 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
