The total number of COVID-19 related to the Maldives has risen to 265 after another person has passed away.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that a 37-year-old Bangladeshi man passed away due to COVID-19 today at the Addu City Feydhoo Health Center. The man was dead on arrival when he was brought to the health center at 8 a.m. this morning.

The most recent death today raises the tally to 247 locals and 18 foreigners. The highest reported COVID deaths on a single day in the Maldives has been on 25 May 2021 where 13 deaths were reported.

The first COVID-related reported in the country was reported on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old local woman.
