He made the statement while speaking at the joint press conference with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi today.
Minister Shahid noted that the visit undoubtedly marks an important milestone in our longstanding bilateral relationship, as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Maldives and China.
"I have no doubt that Maldives-China relations will rise to new heights under the able leadership of both President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, and President Xi Jinping. Our relationship is firmly based on the principles of mutual respect and understanding between our two countries, and the Maldives’ unwavering commitment to the One-China Principle," Minister Shahid said.
