The total number of COVID-19 related to the Maldives has risen to 262 after another person has passed away.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that the passing of an 86-year-old brought to the Thaa Atoll Vilufushi this morning at 5:30 a.m. this morning has been ruled as a COVID-related death.
The most recent death today raises the tally to 245 locals and 17 foreigners. The highest reported COVID deaths on a single day in the Maldives has been on 25 May 2021 where 13 deaths were reported.
The first COVID-related reported in the country was reported on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old local woman.
