The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 94,864 after another 132 people have tested positive in the past 24 hours.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 43 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 46 from the atolls and 42 from the resorts with one person from safari yachts.
In the same time frame, 119 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 92,558 with another 2,032 people still in treatment including ten people in hospitals.
There have been 261 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 244 locals, 17 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
