An intoxicated woman in That Atoll Thimarafushi has vandalized the guesthouse owned by the MP for Thimarafushi constituency, Abdulla Riyaz.

President of the Thimarafushi Island Council, Ismail Ibrahim told ONE Online today that an intoxicated woman vandalizes the MP's guesthouse, Stay Mikado, last night around 12:30 a.m.

The Council President said that the guesthouse itself did not sustain a lot of damage but the vehicle parked outside were heavily damaged including a van outside that had its windscreen destroyed.

Council President Ismail Ibrahim said that the Maldives Police Service has said that the woman has a mental disability and so cannot be arrested while the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services has said that the woman cannot be taken in to their custody as the woman does not have a record of disability and the island currently does not have a psychiatric consultant.

Attempts by ONE Online to get a comment from the Police regarding the situation has been unsuccessful.
