The total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the country has risen to 250 after two more people have passed away.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that the first COVID-related death today tool place at the Noonu Atoll Hospital where a 54-year-old man passed away at 2 a.m.

The second COVID-19 related death took place at the Hulhumale' Facility at 10:42 a.m. this morning where a 90-year-old woman passed away.

With thesee most recent deaths today, the COVID-related deaths currently tally at 233 locals and 17 foreigners. The highest reported COVID deaths on a single day in the Maldives has been on 25 May 2021 where 13 deaths were reported.

The Maldives reported its first COVID-related death on 29 April 2020 while the highest number of COVID-19 related deaths on a single day was reported on 25 May 2021 with 13 deaths.
