Another 161 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the Maldives in the past 24 hours.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 161 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 89,190 with another 1,832 people still in treatment; 14 in hospitals.

In the same time frame, 22 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 112 from the atolls and 17 from the resorts.

There have been 248 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 231 locals, 17 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman
