Maldivian NGO advocating for the rights of migrant works in the country, Mission for Migrant Workers in Maldives (MMWM), has prepared to host a cricket carnival for migrant workers in Maldives.
Set to take place at the Ekuveni Cricket Field this Friday, the highlight is a one-way cricket tournament in cooperation with the Cricket Board of Maldives and Ooredoo Maldives.
MMWM said that the event aims to celebrate works and Thier contributions to the community and provide an opportunity for them to come together for leisure and enjoyment.
Founder and President of MMWM, Dr. Minah Faiz told ONE Online that the slots for the tournament are five registrations away from filling the 16 allocated slots.
He said that teams can register for free independently or from companies.
Registration for the event closes at 12 p.m. tomorrow. Forms are available on the MMWM website in various languages and the forms can be submitted via Viber at 738-4994 or at the office of the Cricket Board.
The event is set to feature stalls around the stadium offering various services such as free health screenings, mobile consultation clinics, legal awareness and more; all curated for migrant workers.
The MMWM said that they hope to promote the holistic well-being of migrant workers by giving an opportunity to take part in recreational activity and improve community spirit.
