Another 80 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the Maldives in the past 24 hours.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 80 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 88,119. There are 2,084 active cases at the moment with 16 being treated in hospitals.
In the same time frame, 20 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 87 from the atolls and 17 from the resorts.
There have been 248 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 231 locals, 17 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
