The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) have started discussions on releasing more information regarding the case of corruption at MMPRC. The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) had reportedly embezzled MVR 1.4 billion during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.

Information Officer of ACC, Hassan Manik informed One Online that discussions have commenced at the commission regarding revealing further information on the case.

Manik reiterated that it is yet not decided whether information will be revealed or not and added that the Commission is in the discussion phase at this point.

The Information Officer said that should the Commission reach a decision to reveal information regarding the investigation, the amount of information revealed will also be decided at the discussions.

He informed that it is yet unsure as to how long the discussions will carry on until or when a final decision will be made.

While ACC conducts its discussions, a major protest calling for the reveal of all beneficiaries of corruption at MMPRC before the Parliamentary elections, is in the works.
