A COVID-19 related has been reported at Addu City raising the total number of COVID-related deaths in the country to 237.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that an 87-year-old man being treated at the COVID Management Facility in Addu City passed away at 1:21 a.m. last night.

While this most recent death marks the fifth COVID-related death from Addu City, a 97-year-old man passed away in Friday as well.

The COVID death toll in the country is now at 237 that includes 220 locals and 17 foreigners. Maldives saw the highest COVID-related deaths on 25 May where 13 people passed away.
