Another 118 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the Maldives raising the total recoveries to 79,448.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 108 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 79,448 with another 1,966 people still in treatment.

In the same time frame, 42 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 120 from the atolls and 17 from the resorts.

There has been 226 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 209 locals, 17 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
