Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll Thinadhoo has been placed under monitoring after less than a month since it was lifted after a student who consulted at the Flu Clinic tested positive for COVID-19.

Monitoring status on Thinadhoo was lifted on 25 July after three months. During the time where the island was under monitoring, over 900 people tested positive and two passed away due to complications.

Manager of the Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital in Thinadhoo told One Online today that the student who tested positive consulted the Flu Clinic yesterday.

And so, contact tracing is underway since other students have been marked as direct contacts.
