The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 78,130 after 131 people have tested positive in the past 24 hours.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 100 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 75,353 with another 2,543 people still in treatment.

In the same time frame, 21 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 92 from the atolls and 18 from the resorts.

There has been 222 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 205 locals, 17 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020.
