The total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the country has risen to 214 after another person has passed after over a week from the last death.

After a nine-day hiatus, a 59-year-old woman passed away at the Shaviyani Atoll COVID-19 treatment facility last night at 3:05 a.m.

So far, the COVID-19 death toll in the country consists of 197 locals and 17 foreigners while the highest number of deaths on a single day has been on 25 May 2021 with 13 deaths.

Maldives reported its first COVID-related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
