The total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 74,903 after 55 people have tested positive in the past 24 hours.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 25 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 20 from the atolls and ten people from the resorts.

In the same time frame, 119 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 71,877 with another 2,801 people still in treatment. There are 26 people being treated in hospitals.

There have been 213 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 196 locals, 16 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020.
