Elections Commission has said that they will be making a request at the Ministry of Finance and Treasury tomorrow to release funds to PPM.

Talking to One Online, Member and Spokesperson of the Elections Commission, Ahmed Akram, said that the Commission will obey the court order.

Akram said that the Commission has always said that they would comply with the court decisions and so a request will be made at the Finance Ministry tomorrow to release funds to PPM.

While PPM is finally getting the funding, many have take to social media to express their concerns regarding the political party's debt; particularly to Island Aviation.

Elections Commission has withheld over MVR 8 million from PPM. And the party has previously said that their debt is lower than the funding withheld and th debt will be cleared once the funding is released.

With the Supreme Court ruling that the PPM Congress was valid, the former President of the Maldives, Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, would now be validated as the President of PPM.

Although the matter of Congress has been settled, a decision has yet to be made regarding the ownership of PPM.
