The country's total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 73,327after 233 people have tested positive in the past 24 hours.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 31 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 157 from the atolls.

In the same time frame, 255 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 69,031 with another 4,075 people still in treatment.

There have been 209 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 193 locals, 16 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020.
