An elderly COVID-19 patient at the Hulhumale' Facility has passed away raising the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the country to 197.

One Online has learned that an 83-year-old local man passed away at the Hulhumale' Facility at 4:47 a.m. this morning.

With this most recent death, the COVID-19 death toll in the country is a total of 197 that consists of 182 locals and 15 foreigners.

Maldives saw the highest number of COVID-19 related deaths last month with 13 deaths on the 25 May alone.

The first reported death due COVID-19 waas reported on 29 April 2020.
