A total of 1,771 people recovers from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours raising the total number of recoveries to 45,730

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 1,771 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 45,730 with another 21,032 people still in treatment. There are 213 people being treated at hospitals.

In the same time frame, 768 people have tested positive including 249 people in Male' area and 154 from the atolls and 29 people from the resorts; raising the total number of cases in the country to 66,948.

Since 23 May, the daily cases began rising above 300 and peaked over 1000 before dropping on 28 May 2021.

There have been 177 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 162 locals, 15 foreign nationals.
