The total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the Maldives has risen to 108 after another person has passed away.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that a deceased 77-year-old local man who was taken to the emergency room at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has been confirmed positive for COVID-19.

And so, this marks the third COVID-related death today with the first being a 88-year-old man from the COVID-19 facility in Laamu Atoll Gan followed by a 69-year-old woman from the same facility.

As COVID-19 spreads rapidly across the country a 35-year-old woman has passed away as well.
