The Judiciary Committee of the Parliament has criticized the government saying that the government said that they will be sending 33 bills to the Parliament but sofar, they have only sent six bills.

In response to Ahmed Abdulla Afeef, the Legal Counsel to the President's comments regarding the delays in the bills sent by the government, the Judiciary Committee of the Parliament held a press conference today where the Chair of the Committee, the MP for Mid-Maafannu constituency, Imthiyaz Fahumee said that the government have sent only seven of the promised 33 bills and most of those seven bulls are four-sentence bills to void laws in effect.

MP Imthiyaz said that while the government has failed to bring in new bills, the Parliament began drafting bills and the government had obstructed that as well. He said that the bills promised by the government include important bills that are part of the MDP and MPs campaign promises.

And so the bills of judicial reform and changes to the Judges Act are important bills promised to the previous term of the larrloab.

Imthiyaz also criticized the government in its policy of return and compensation calling it in fair and noted the government's disregard to the Parliament's instructions.
