Member of the advisory TAG Team, Dr. Nazla Musthafa has said that the Maldivian capital, Male' City has a major outbreak of COVID-19.

Speaking at the HEOC Press conference today, Dr. Nazla said that both flu positivity rate and the sample positivity rate has increased in the capital.

She said that the sample positivity rate went from three percent in the first week of March to six percent in the second week and then to five percent up to week six.

"But from 21 April to 27 April, sample positivity increased to ten percent. We are working to keep the sample positivity rate under five percent." Dr. Nazla said.

She further siad that despite the high number of cases, the number of people that has to be treated by admitting at the hospitals are going down.
