A Maldivian has passed away due to COVID-19 related complications, raising the total COVID-deaths in the country to 72.
One has learned that today, an 85-year-old woman who was seeking treatment at state-run IGMH has passed away. However we are unable to confirm the exact time of her death.
This is the 72nd COVID-19 death in the Maldives
With this, the total number of COVID deaths in the country is currently at 65 locals and seven foreigners that include nationals from Bangladeshi and Philippines.
The first reported COVID-19 death in the country was on 29 April 2020 after an 83-year-old woman passed away.
