The total number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives has risen to 26,021 after another 82 people tests positive today.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 40 people tested positive from Male' City, 24 from the atolls and 18 people from the resorts. After a spike in cases last two months, the daily average is at 100 cases this week.
In the same time frame, 118 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 23,360 with another 2,584 people still being treatment.
So far, there have been 68 COVID-related fatalities in the Maldives that includes 61 locals, six Bangladeshi nationals and a Philippine national.
