The number of COVID-19 related deaths in the Maldives have risen to 68 after another person has passed away due to complications with COVID-19.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that an 82-year-old local women passed away this morning at 11:12 a.m. while being treated at Dharumavantha Hospital.

While 68 COVID-related deaths have been reported in the country, a nation-wide COVID vaccination program is well underway with over 274,000 receiving the first dose and the number of people who has received the second dose exceeding 28,000.
