Bank of Maldives has today announced the installation of solar powered streetlights in Sh. Goidhoo supported through ‘Aharenge Bank Community Fund’.
With this project, 50 solar powered streetlights were installed on a 2km area in the island’s main road to parks and picnic areas.
“Prior to this project, there were no street lights in the area. Al the wroks were carried out by talented youth from the island. We are very pleased with the completion of this project during this challenging times. This project will benefit several groups of the community including farmers, palm leaf weavers, ‘kanamadhu’ collectors and those who use the area for exercises, and those who use the parks and picnic areas as well. We thank BML for the financial support to complete the project and the cooperation by the members of the youth community to make this project a success. We plan to submit similar development project proposals in future," Commenting on the project, the winner Ibrahim Nisham Ahmed stated.
Bank of Maldives also supported the installation of solar streetlights in H.Dh. Kumundhoo, under its Community Fund.
