The total number of COVID recoveries in the Maldives has risen to cases has risen to 21,368 with another 89 people recovers from COVID-19.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 86 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 21,368 with another 89 people still in treatment.

In the same time frame, 67 people tested positive in Male' area, 65 from the atolls, 29 people from the resorts and eight people from industrial islands according to the HPA.

Yesterday alone saw a record number of COVID cases for a single day with 300 positive cases while Wednesday saw 241 cases.

So far, there have been 67 COVID-related fatalities in the Maldives that includes 60 locals, six Bangladeshi nationals and a Philippine national.
