The COVID-19 related deaths in the Maldives have risen to 55 after local has passed away due to complications with the illness.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that a 60-year-old local woman being treated for COVID-19 has passed away at 11:07 a.m. this morning.
The HPA has confirmed that the woman passed away while being treated a DH11 at Dharumavantha Hospital and marks the 55th COVID-related death in the country.
With this most recent death, so far 48 locals and seven foreigners that consists of six Bangladeshi nationals and a Philippine national, have passed away due to COVID-19 in the Maldives.
The first reported death of COVID-19 in the country was an 83-year-old woman who passed away on 29 April.
