Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo has been placed backed under monitoring.

Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) said that the island was placed under monitoring after a person who was in contact with the person who tested positive in Addu City, tested positive while in Thinadhoo.

Two people who returned to Male’ City from Thinadhoo on 3 February also tested positive and the island was placed under monitoring and locked down the island. However, the lock down and monitoring was lifted on 5 February when the samples from contact tracing tested negative.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that the island will be locked down until tracing procedures are completed.

After positive cases in Addu City, the islands of Addu are under locked down as well.
